About Bucks & Does

Hi, I'm Ashana Thiele.

I've called the Treasure Valley home for as long as I can remember. I'm a wife, mother, sister, daughter, and the youngest of twelve children. Growing up in a big family taught me how to thrive in a little bit of chaos, but these days I value meaningful connections, quiet moments, and date nights with my husband just as much.

If you ask my mom, I've had scissors in my hands since I was three years old. Whether I was cutting hair, clothes, or crafting projects, I was always creating something. What eventually led me into the beauty industry, though, was much simpler: I was giving my oldest son his first haircut when he was about a year and a half old and thought it might be worthwhile to learn a skill that would last a lifetime. What started as curiosity quickly turned into a passion, and before long, I knew I wanted to build a career around it.

I earned my Cosmetology license in 2018 and began working in several salons that served primarily male clientele. During that time, I discovered a passion for men's grooming and barbering. Wanting to expand my skills and better serve my clients, I returned to school in 2021 to earn my Barber license. Since then, I've specialized in men's services while continuing to welcome women into my chair as well.

The name Bucks & Does Hair Parlor has a special meaning to me. My husband and I have embraced the "buck and doe" theme throughout our lives together—from our wedding hashtag, #buckanddoethiele, to woodland-themed nurseries for our growing family. His passion for hunting and our shared love for the outdoors inspired the brand, but I also wanted the name to reflect the Idaho lifestyle that so many of us cherish. Most importantly, I wanted a name that felt welcoming and inclusive without limiting the business to being solely a barbershop or a salon.

Above all else, my clients are never just a number. Building genuine relationships is one of my favorite parts of this profession. When you sit in my chair, I want you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself. Whether we're discussing your haircut goals, celebrating life's victories, or working through life's challenges, I believe every appointment should be a positive experience where you feel safe, valued, and cared for.

Outside of the shop, you'll usually find me spending time with my family, enjoying the outdoors, pursuing health and fitness goals, or making memories with the people who matter most. These experiences shape who I am and influence the way I serve every client who trusts me with their hair.

Thank you for supporting my small business and allowing me to do what I love. I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to Bucks & Does Hair Parlor.
